Well, I did after the thread on OTG, due to £100. on premium bonds. It works fine but it didn't really suit us because of the shape. Slices are too high as we don't like big portions. The regular 8" spring tin I normally use gives shorter and fatter portions. The quantities of meat to fill the tin are ⅓ more than for the 8" round spring form tin.

They're expensive anyway, not much short of £100.

are these what you are talking about?

Being nosey, I googled French fluted pie mould to see what you are on about and found this http://www.alacook.co.uk/item--Fluted-Game-Pie-Mould--GAMEMOULD.html I saw one identical to these in the local Barnados charity shop last week for a fiver, and dismssed it, and passed it by

I've been trawling the car boots and charity shops looking for an affordable one for ever.

I really think the spring-form cake tins do a better job and are more solid.

Are you going to use it though Gerry?  It a lot of money to be sitting gathering dust at the back of a cupboard

Yes, Debbie, I have used it and said in my first post on this thread why it doesn't suit us as well as the 8" spring-forms tins. I'm now using it for the game pies I give when son visits, and use the cake tins for our own use. We're planning a short break in North Devon in Feb or Mar and I could drop it off for you to borrow for a few days. You'll likely to be disappointed by its flimsiness and I doubt you'd then want to buy your own.

PS Debbie, wasn't thinking and didn't intend being mean. I can drop it off in Fer or Mar and collect it in the summer. Shutting down now because Tony's opened a bottle. Read your reply tomorrow.

would be lovelly to see you in Feb/ March.  Bring wellies (waders at the moment would be better) if you would like to meet the menagerie too.  Would be great if you could bring pie mold with you even if I didn't borrow it would be good to see what quality you get for your money!

Will do to all, debbie. Haven't booked break yet but will let you know when. That pie mold is poor quality though does work. Our last hen died (of natural causes) and we'll start again after break.
