Wasn't sure where to post this.

Has anyone any experience of registering an entitlement to exercise rights of common?

The Council has confirmed that we have rights attached to our land but has advised taking legal advice before registering the entitlement and I can't really think why?

The only thing I can think of is the possible (remote) liability arising from the the fact that The public have the right to access registered common land

Personal injury -falls sprains etc

Is anyone on here a member of the Country Landowners Association? I'm not a member, but they helped someone I know with a legal/planning problem. I don't think you have to have swathes of land to join.

So by exercising rights we might be jointly liable?
I can'e see how, since Common Land still has an owner and I would have thought they would have to shoulder that. Worth looking into though
