This is our senior plot member Walter. He's eighty-nine, old soldier, ex-game keeper and long time bee keeper!
He's down to four hives now from fourteen and seems to be fighting a losing battle. He was seriously stung a few weeks ago as wasps took over a hive!
He tells me willow wood is the best thing for his smoker, if you can get it! (My carrots, sez I proudly!)

Thanks for the photos and the potted history Stanley (lovely carrots by the way )
I hope that Walter continues with his bees - is there anyone else interested in helping him with a view to taking over in the future? _________________
