The bird in flight is "diesel" he is a Gyr x Peregrine Hybrid, he is male (Tiercel) and in the photo he had only been with us for between 12-20 days, we had him when he was 8 weeks old.  He was born in 2007.  This year he is currently moulting out to be a lovely deep slate blue colour.

He is a hunting bird and is used for Grouse, Partridge, Ducks (All varieties), snipe and the odd pheasant.

He took 12 days from getting him as an Eyass (Young bird straight from the parents) to getting him flying free and a further 21 days to get him hunting.

Mike
