In case you are wondering about the cushion - being a retriever he always has to bring us something and he has a passion for cushions

He is my daughter's dog.  When we come into the house he is hilarious. He can't say "hello" - he has to frantically search for a cushion to bring us.

She is hoping to take him picking up this year - he is 15 months now

I would've loved to give Sedge a proper job, but he likes to stand and gaze at things too.  Harvey brings me things bless the little lad.

Ive bought, planted and lost three. Ive gven up and enjoy annuals in my beds instead. They dont like the clay, wet Norfolk ground. In my infertile river bed in a previous garden they worked well. Iam always jealous when i see them. Well done and thanks for the picture.

Same here MOL, as Kaz says, we've lost a few over the years.

On a different note, I noticed that one of our two budlea ( can't spell it as you can tell. ) has started to come into flower. We have a purple one and a cream one, but neither of them really produce the masses of blooms that you seen on the feral ones that you inhabit waste land. For some reason, they produce lots of luxuriant leaves but pathetic flowers, nor do we get loads of butterflys on them either.

Mine is even better now, it is amazingly heavy with flowers. I think I should have probably cut it back in autumn or spring.

They are very easy to take cuttings from so it is always wise to have some in reserve for when they die off.

I have budlea (can't spell it either) and they are very good here and easy to grow.

I seem to remember seeing some magnificent Hydrangea (?) on Llyn.

I don't know Norfolk as I have only been there once so I don't know what grows well there.

Home of Colmans Mustard.
I would have thought that choice would be limited by climate and soil conditions. Flat, open and boggy in places.
