On this day in1892 The General Election saw the appointment of Britain's first socialist MP - James Keir Hardie, elected for Holytown, Lanarkshire.
How things have changed since his time, especially since the election of the current shower! The doing away with the 10 pence in the pound tax rate for the less well off being one of most recent unsocialist like policies coming from the Labour Party. :q52: _________________

Or people would not know what proper work was and what you had to do to get it - and not know what you had to do to avoid it. _________________ The Mongrel Moguls |
