Thanks for the update - it sounds as though he is doing really well.
Are you still as active with him or have you been able to step back a bit?

A wee update , my Grandson has now been self employed for around 18 month , i wondered at the start if would stick it ? but he has made me proud , he has had the chance of a couple of jobs on the strength of his work , but has turned them down in order to be his own boss , i still go round a couple of times a week and play away , i cut some kindling for him , make some bird tables , nest boxs , wooden planters , just what ever he has an order for , he has bought himself a nice transit van, complete with a tow bar so he can borrow MY TRAILER , ! changed days from when i was giving him a few 's to help him survive , now he gives me a few !! , i still look after his accounts for him , his choice he says " Aye papa your the money man , your so tight i wont get the chance to waste it ! "   so proud of what he has turned himself into , long may it continue .

Good for him

I love hearing stories of youngsters making a go of it
So many are happy to sit on there fat arses.

Best of luck to him.

OK, it's two years since my Grandson started this journey , and i am delighted to say that he is still working as hard as ever , so far he has been in a position where he almost has more work than he cope with and has relied on a fair bit of help from me ,to be fair he has always insisted that i get paid , but times move on , we had a long chat a couple of months ago and i said i thought it was time for me to take a real back seat , Sandy was'nt so sure but eventually he came round to my way of thinking , he asked me to help him get a someone who could help him ,i knew a young lad who was looking for work and he has been working with Sandy now for nearly 2 month , things look good , both young and eager to improve the situation they were in ,  so for now i'm a retired man , i was delighted to be in a position where i could give him a few 's towards his new equipment, i was even more pleased when he looked at me and said "Pa-pa i knew you would never spend that money that you said were your wages , "  i was proud to see him really make a go of it , i have said that i will be around if he wants to talk , which he replied " make it a day with a Y in it then" ,  Good luck son you will be fine i can tell.
