I saw a great idea yesterday for a garden table.
I visited my favourite canal side pub and there it was in the beer garden.
They'd used two 55 gallon oak barrels, of which I have a few, for the legs and then incorporated what looked like five scaffolding planks for the table top. The planks had been sanded and stained and the two table ends had been shaped so that they were round.
It looked very effective and it had half a dozen bar stools set around it to finish it off.
So far I've been able to price new scaffolding poles at fifteen quid each but I'm working on that.
As soon as I've got the materials I'll get cracking and I'll post details on this thread as the project comes together. It wont take long,as its looks as though like most good ideas, it should be very simple to do.
