Just back in from a big day at  the allotment , went up this morning around 10 am , and home at 9.30 pm, a long day but a good one , picked around 30 lbs of strawberrys, i will give away around 10 of them, the rest will make jam , also lifted all my Garlic, and about 50 onion sets , picked a load of rhubarb, which will be destined for jam, i also lifted a few tatties , and then planted out about 200 leeks , 10 red cabbage , 10 green , weeded and tidied up , so it's looking good ,which is just as well as we are away on saturday to our caravan for 9 days ( a bit fishing ) so all in all i'm a happy chappy .

If you are going away when are you going to have time to eat all the pickings?

But it all sounds productive. You are one of us who are having a good year.

HA-ha , 2 years ago we took loads of fruit to the caravan ,along with all our jam making equipment , and spent two days making jam , we actually made so much i was sent of to B.M.bargain shop to by up all the cheap deals so we could use the jars ,!!!  my best buy being 11 jars of red cabbage pickle , which we dont like , but it was in big jars and they were reduced to 5p each !!!! and we have already made a Rhubarb crumble to take with us for tea to night ,along with some new potatoes , all i need now is to catch some fish !! (I have told my better half to take a tin of tuna ! just in case   )
