I've got three pigs being picked up from our place this morning and taken down to a Rare breeds farm in Norfolk.
I've sold Matty the boar and two sows, namely Milly and Olwen. I'll be sad to see them go but needs must.

All of them loaded up nice and calmly and they've started a long journey to their new home. I'm sad to see them go, especially Milly who was bred here and has given us two super litters. On the plus side, the bank balance has suddenly started to look a lot better.

It's just like waiting for a bus, you wait for ages, one comes and then a load of them all come at once. A bloke has quite literally just rung up and he'll be on our doorstep tomorrow to buy four 10 week old fattening pigs.

It's OK for you, I've got to break the news to them that they're going to live in Liverpool.

Four more pigs gone this morning and more money in the coffers but the place seems very empty.

I might as well tell you, that we're slowly but surely dismantling the smallholding ready for a move at the end of the summer. There could be some very good breeding setts of chickens for rehoming.

No, the weaners are going to a chap who fattens a dozen pigs at a time and then sends them for the chop.

Not sold but we need to move to be closer to family and everything else in general. My son and his wife have inherited a three bedroom bungalow near Oswestry and we're going to rent that from them until the smallholding sells.
