Solar powered fencing units?
I've not had any experience using them, so how safe and reliable, or not have folks found these systems to be?
I currently ( ha ha   ) use a mains energiser, which is brilliant for the job but a change in circumstance this year, could see me keeping my pigs off grid in the middle of nowhere and using a solar unit, is an option that I need to look at.
We're still keen to move to pastures green and one option we have maybe to buy a house and then buy a field in the middle of nowhere.

I just use batteries and keep a spare one charged up and ready to go. I did try a solar panel a few years ago but didn't find it worked very well. Perhaps they're better now though.

Not today, but we've had plenty this last two weeks. We're supposedly getting some   tomorrow and then a week of rain.

We use one all the time, but get lots of sunshine even in winter get enough. BUT we use one that runs off old car battery too with a solar charger panel on which is much cheaper to set up,   We have a mains one here as well
