I don't usually bother setting my Larson trap at this time of the year but for the last week or so, Magpies have been nicking the fat balls that I put out for the other birds.
Well I'd had enough of it, so this morning I set up the Larson and baited it with the very same fat balls. I've caught three of them already and I need to go out and despatch them ASAP because I've still got some more queuing up to join the party.

Great stuff! Do you use a call bird at all? Hardly to keep them healthy this time of year!

I've kept one of the three back to give it a go. In really bad weather, I'll bring it back into the polytunnel.
Number four has just landed on the trap, I'm watching while i'm typing to see whether it goes in.
