Made a herb planter to hide the gap under the decking with the left over battens..

Thanks everyone...

I am really happy with how it's turned out. We've had loads of use out of it and I'm not afraid the latest addition is a flat screen telly (donated for free) just so we don't need to go inside to keep up with favourite programmes. Also got an extension on the house phone so we don't need to run in from the garden to answer calls.

My Lazyboy recliner is the icing on the cake (this one from a local furniture recycling place). I can be found in there any day.
