As in title i'm short of places to go rat shooting with nv at night.
Anywhere 60-70 miles raduis of Newport Gwent.
I just LOVE shooting those rats, Insured in many ways and have plenty of experierance.
The rats are starting to come in now from the fields etc. Pg farms etc are great for rats.
So any one with rats in numbers (have them thinned out the NON-TOXIC way heheheehehe)

Its tricky Bry. Although the forum is down as having over a thousand members, obviously a lot of those aren't very active and the rest are spread out all over the country if not the world.
If we lived in your area and we had rats, i'd be onto you like a shot. _________________ A friendly family based countryside forum.

I agree Pilsbury, but there are LOTS and i mean LOTS out there but not in places to go shoot them sat there nice and quietly.
Just came back from a place chooks house next to a reen, the reen is overgrown thick with brambles. The rats are living in the reen bank and traveling back and forth to chooks.
Now i was going to place fens about (covered of course ) but they have 2 retrievers that are rat mad and will not leave the traps alone.
I am going back tonight with the NV and moderated air rifle for a recky mission. The customer is going to leave piles of bait out after he locks away the chooks is certain places for me.
Failing that its get the brush cutters out cut back the brambles on the banks, clear it ready for a rat day with the dogs and smoker get my Sporting lucas pup introduced at the same time.
Or once banks are cleared its NV & rifle time _________________ interested in the ways of life, mainly countrylife |

Nice one Bry.
Pugh and I were out as well last night. We got two rabbits and a fox that turned out to be a piece of reflective armband. I just work the lamp, so it wasn't my fault. _________________ A friendly family based countryside forum.

Sounds like rat heaven!!!! if only i was closer i would give you a hand...up this was there are only a couple of farmers who have livestock, otherwise it is all arable/veg. some small amounts of rats but so far nothing spectacular...some farmers dont want it know if they have got a problem either which doesnt help.
early reports from forums and docs like countrywise are suggesting a massive explosion in rat numbers....will see when they show...although Norfolk is a bit far as well..
enjoy!!!

We used to be able to go to the local dump at night, get used to the smell, sit on the top of the car and listen to the rustle. It was alive with them. Shortly after the dump closed the local farms were swamped with rats. _________________ A friendly family based countryside forum.

Tell Pugh that he's completely lost me on that one and that he'll have to explain. _________________ A friendly family based countryside forum.
