I didn't realise it until I went over to America a few years back that its totally illegal to hunt with ferrets over there. They can still do lots of stuff that we can't do but definitely not ferreting.  Strange that isn't it ?

Went to let the ferrets out into their run today and smokey just lay curled up in a little ball at the back of their hutch he seems lifeless, I held him in my arms for a bit and he just lay there looking at me with sad little eyes we will keep checking him every hour or so make sure he's comfortable the other two are fussing around him, we have had them for about 7 years and they have always had a outdoor play area with lots to satisfy their insatiable curiosity fingers crossed he is just having a off day.

Pets they are so soft not a mean bone in their little bodies they even made friends with a young blackbird who would sing to them and they would push kibble out to her and chirp and dance for her.

Keeping regular checks to make sure he is comfortable I've given him my gardening jacket and one of my t shirts so he has the smell of me to comfort him, out the 3 he put on the least amount of fat this winter.

Seven years is a fair old score for a ferret Woody, you've done very well to keep them for as long as you have.

Drama over checked him this AM and has perked up back to his old self we took him to the vet for a MOT and all was well, vet reckons he did not have enough winter fat store for the sudden temp.drop we had a few nights ago but my old jacket and thick Tshirt did the trick
