I hadn't sourced the windows or door by this point but wanted something substantial.

1st mistake.. Never fitted a window to that left hand side... I like the way it's shaping up although I could have made the front edge a little shorter.

Who'll be first to correct my next faux pas?

The open front edge is roughly west facing so the idea is we get the setting sun but the shack starts warming up with the morning sun. Ideal in the winter.

In the winter it was more me than both of us most of the time.  It must "breathe" well because there is never any condensation.

Cheers folks.

A quick jump forward as had to get the roof and windows installed. I was fortunate to inherit a whole house full of double glazed windows units. I selected the 2 largest for the South and West facing walls.I have to say I was particularly happy with the windows installation.

I've had this little baby for a few years just waiting for this job to get up and running.

My brother in law Jim, the welder, fixed me up with a chimney.Single skin 4" steel pipe for the chimney. My design was a bit too precise with the measurements. Had to work withwhat I had.

Getting some of the home comforts installed. My beloved Mordaunt Short speakers and a Marantz tuner.Wifi on a TP link to follow so that full Internet access will be available.

The first burn with the stove in situ, with approval from "The Oracle", my neighbour Jock.
I've used fireboard for the surface with concrete in the void between fireboard and the sarking. Note, now, the internal cladding is in place too combined with 10mm thermal insulation. Didn't think felt a good idea and the likes of Kingspan too expensive.
