I don't think I'm, necessarily, going to show anyone "how to", but after reluctantly giving up my poultry we decided to use part of the garden in a different way.
I'm fortunate that, as a work bonus, I can get vouchers for all kinds of retail places so we decided to buy a summerhouse.
Big Mistake!!
After ordering about £500 of B&Q vouchers it was obvious pretty soon that the quality of the houses available was shockingly poor..
The size we were looking at for a corner shaped house was about £700/£800. These things are incredibly flimsy and use styrene for the "windows"... So, only one choice. Build one..

I'll stick up some of the photos and be able to let others know the few mistakes I wouldn't make again.

As I had the vouchers anyway it was necessary to buy most of the basics from the good folks at B &Q however, because of their timber length limits (2.4 metres max length) I quickly became a fan of the local sawmill. I did get screws, 2"x2" battens, roof felt, sterling board for the flooring and roof from the retailer tho as well as wood treatment and t&g for the internal walls.

The name Love Shack just evolved but it's certainly more glam than a simple shed.

I hope you enjoy the pictorial diary.

Steve

Struggling to add any comments.

The boss sweeping up after me on the new deck. Then the floor of the shack in situ.

The end panels were fabricated in the garage in the winter and designed to just squeeze out through the door gap on the angle.

I get my help where I can. Get the kids earning their keep.

I used sarking boards overlapping by an inch for the external cladding.
