Bella our aged coloured cob had a small growth removed from the corner of her eye about five months ago. Two months ago a lump appeared just beneath her ear and above her eye. Today, the vet confirmed our worst fears.
There's nothing that can be done for the horse but at the moment, she doesn't seem to be in any pain, she's eating well and her quality of life is good. We're not going to have the horse messed with and when the time comes, she's going to be buried here at home. Its very sad of course but we've had her since she was two and she's had a good life. She's well into her twenties now, poor Bella.

So sorry to hear this, but what a lovely life Bella has had, and also helped you and your family to have.

So sorry - youve made the right decision not to have her messed around with, and just let her enjoy the rest of her life, and enjoy having her with you.  She has the summer to look forward to and all that lovely fresh grass.  She looks a lovely girl.

Try to keep your mind on the 'now' (empathsing with you) and how well she is doing, knowing that she has no idea what is going on and is living each day just as she did before~thoroughly and with the enjoyment of her family. It will prove to be a priceless endeavour, but one I believe will reward you with the ability to cope when that day does come. Take care Bodger~truly.

I'm so sorry to hear this. It's going to be hard when the time comes, but you've made the right decision - and remember, she's had a lovely life with you.
