Winnies home, she's looking and feeling very glum. She's moaning and groaning quite a bit.
I've lit the fire and put her infront of it in her crate on a sheepskin. She wants her mummy home.

Ah bless her cotton socks better stay with her and tempt her with a drink now and then, will she ask to go for a pee or will she suffer in silence?

Nothing looks more pathetic than a post op dog.

She'll be a lot brighter in the morning.

Give her a pat from me please.

She's taking quite a few sips of water but refusing food  She is more grumpy than usual and is growling if any of the other dogs come near the crate
I've bought some slippery elm for her but there's no way that she will take it at the moment - she should be much more settled by the morning.

Kaz, when I give slippery elm I mix it into some yogurt...they usually eat it then....but you have to get them to eat it fairly quickly as it gets thick and they get it stuck to the roof of their mouths..lol

Hope she is feeling much better tomorrow.

We have tried everything to get her to eat, bearing in mind the sensitive state of her stomach - mince (raw and cooked) chicken, fish, steak , yoghurt, honey, rice pudding - she runs away from the bowl and won't even sniff them..........

......I'm embarrased to tell you what she has wolfed down

Mama mia who gives ad dame as long as she enjoy's it, we always get our other dogs near by if we want to make a poorly one eat, it never fails the -"your not having this I am "  state of mind takes over every time. Raw egg and milk is a good one, also tuna in oil sometimes works.
