I've read a few by Brain Plummer
Mostly they are good entertainment,  even if not particularly informative as to techniques, they brighten the dayup
Make you hanker for a simpler time

Longdogs by day, Lurchers and longdogs E.G. Walsh, both good reads as are A fowlers world Ian Niall, A history of English country sports Micheal Billett, and Trout bum John Gierach.

Enjoyed them all.

For anyone with an interest in roe deer I'd highly recomend Roe deer, management and stalking by Richard Prior.

Death in the long grass along with the rest of the series by Peter Hathaway-Capstick is also worth a read. For those with an interest in big game. Although I do strongly suspect he's embellished a few of his stories.

Have a read of With Gun Rifle And Bow by James Douglas

Great book written by man who sadly died in a tragic accident.

I finished reading a very good book called "Tales Of A London Poacher" by Cleve Edmonston.

A little different from the usual poaching books. This is written from a very down to earth chap, and in my view knew how to use what land was available to him to fill the pot.

Here's a little clip.
