this is becoming an anual pantamime.
renewal quote for kwik fit 930 full comp
go compare quotes
3rd party only 633
TPFT 538
fully comp 642 this one again with kwik fit
the next one is 689 for kwik fit platinum including breakdown cover, leagle, scren cover ect ect.
Madness, I was thinking of going for 3rd party only this year but to be honest the saving of 120 on the breakdown cover means i might as well go with the fully comp, still a assive hike on last year though and im going to lok at market traders federation before i jump in

the 6 and 3 points are like the austrailian demerrits, you get points on you licence for things like speeding, parking on the approch to prdistrian crossings, and so on, 12 points and you lose your licence for a couple of years so the more point you have the more they ask you to pay, they tend not to bother to much for the first 3 for speeding here now with all the speed cameras we have now but if you get points you lose your licence.
They normaly stay on your licence for 2 or 3 years and are then wiped off.

Insurance companies still count the previous five years for points though.

Thanks we have that here but its wiped after a year 100points and cameras dont count you lose your licence for 3 months but its not used by insurance companys. This maybe as here we insure our cars for all drivers over 25 with an increased excess for under 25s

Got the renewal quote from MoreThan for my Alfa Sportwagon just before the policy expired on 19 Dec, 491. The car was off the road so told them not to renew I'd call again when when the car was going to be used again. Did that today, price quoted was 291, once I'd got them to strip out all the extras they add on like mobile phone cover, legal aid, breakdown cover all of which I have elsewhere 209!!!!!!!!!!! Not a bad result me thinks!

Psssst......

Not a lot of people know about it, but a lot of people are eligible.
If you have ever worked in any branch of the civil service, or currently do so, you are eligible to join the Civil Service Motoring Association (CSMA).

A 15 annual subscription allows you to take advantage  of a range of discounted services including car insurance and recovery from Liverpool Victoria and Brittania Rescue respectively.

CSMA HOME
Follow the links to the eligibility checker.

I insure my car every year through this service and they are consistently the cheapest.
I have the basic recovery option which costs 39 a year.

Bargain!

Cheers.

Yep CSMA/Britannia well worth it, and you can get membership if any of your immediate family were/are civil servants. Did use Liverpool Victoria (well Frizzel as they were branded then) a while ago but 3 or 4 years ago they seem to have decided that anything in the slightest bit out of the ordinary like my Alfas wasn't something they wanted to be competitive on
