I've just joined this forum and what a treat to see such fab pics. We used to live in Carmarthen and always went to Llanybidder every month. I had a friend who had a marvellous eye for a good pony "in the rough". She would get them for knock down price, break and school them on and turn a handsome profit, I just loved people watching there -some of the old boys were just wonderful.  Theres nothing like it round here...your pics have made me quite nostalgic. Love Lizzie

Hi Mogs, I have never met anyone quite like this woman before. She could literally take the wildest most viscious nasty pony and completely win its trust and have it backed within days and it would be a transformed animal. She has the patience of a saint and watching her work was a priviledge i shall never forget. If ever i get a youngster again i will send it to her to be broken even though its halfway acrosss the country! Love Lizzie

She probably starts them instead of breaking them

I had a horse done like that by one of Monty Roberts demo riders    he was near narbeth

Then i think he and hes girlfriend split up and he stopped doing them

I've got some pikis of them working on my mare somewhere, i'll have a look for them

more than likely dan

this is what i have in my head ...... going to giv it a go this time instead of the old fashioned cruel way of breaking them in.

you still need a good confident rider with a strong seat tho. doesnt matter if there positioning is crap but they need to be confident and positive

I always got on mine meself, when no one was about

Everyone so far has been not to bad, and have done loads to date.

I think being able to jump clear before they buck you of is a big help tho

realy confuses some of them when you go straight back to them to get back on
