Zipper Pulls

I carry a big supply of zipper pulls.  I give out several a day when I am away from home.  To helpful store clerks, as an extra tip to waitstaff.  At one recent wait for my car to be serviced I gave away 3 to a amother and her two well behaved children who were looking at me making the star knot pull.  I get a kick out of giving these away and the recipients are grateful, especially the unappreciated store clerks.  Tony

These pullls are easy to tie:
The wide yellow pull in the first row is a ladder back knot

The blue knot next to it is a simple cobra stitch.  This is one of hundreds of instructions you get when you Google.

I wrote tutorials several years ago for the remaining knots
The tutorial for the red star knot can be found at

The other pulls are all crown and wall knots and the tutorial can be found here  http://www.khww.net/articles.php?article_id=139   The smaller round ones have NO  tucks between the wall and crown knots.  An interesting discussion on the crown and wall knots can be found here   http://khww.net/forum/viewthread....ead_id=640&pid=5672#post_5661

It depends on the material you are working with.  The star knot (red) starts with 3' of cord.  The smaller round pulls take 2 - 15" strands.  Heavier cord would mean longer starting lengths.  When the knots are tightened there is a lot of cordage left over.  It is better to start with a strand that is too long than to almost complete the knot and not have enough cordage to finish.
I have a bag of cordage cut offs from larger projects that can be used later for smaller knots.
