You either love it or you hate it.

No not Marmite but the Apprentice. You either love this TV programme or you hate it, I'm in the love it camp. The new series starts on the 21st of March.

Bordering on being sexist, but going by the photograph, it looks as though none of ugly girls made the cut.

I love it too - though I find myself squirming at some of the daft things they say and do.

I'm also enjoying the new Mary Portas programme on channel 4 - she obviously heard me bangin' on and on about the demise of British manufacturing especially in the rag trade.

Did anyone see it last night?

Only one lace manufacturer left in Nottingham!! and he is living on a barge behind the bit of factory space he rents, awaiting the time when China wakes up and puts all their prices up, which they inevitably will.

Good on him! I hope he survives long enough.

And I'm sure everyone who saw it will, like me, be rooting for sweet little Andrew, the apprentice in the borrowed suit, who showed amazing skills on the sewing machine.

It's called Mary Portas - Bottom Line on Thursday. ch.4.

Last nights episode was a load of rubbish. I hope that it gets better, or I wont be queing up to watch the rest of the series. Alan Sugar portrayed himself as an even more of a big headed arse than usual.

I love to hate it - always end up grumbling throughout the show but still find it compelling.
It's the lack of Common Sense that gets me every time.

I cannot watch it, I tried once, and my language deteriorated on an exponential scale as my blood pressure went up.
Where do they find these gormless, arrogant feckwits?
As far as I'm concerned they all need a damn good slap of reality including sralan call me lord Sugar, he made a fortune selling carp audio products to gullible fools, in the process of which he largely killed off the quality mid market hi-fi manufacturers that people used to save up for and cherish.
In my book that makes him nothing less than an opportunistic charlatan.

We watched it last night after I had seen it advertised earlier in the week - we really enjoyed it and will be watching the other 2 programs.
I like Mary Portas and hope that she can start the revival

I saw some of this last night, good luck to her and the team doing the knicker production, but the cynic in me wonders what would happen if Joe Bloggs tried to sell an unknown, unproven brand or product into Liberty's or JLP?
bodger

Kinky Knickers? We watched it and thought it was great.

Bodger......... haven't you noticed?  The ugly girls NEVER make the cut!

(Which reminds me, when I was younger I always wondered why we girls got detectives such as Columbo, Kojak and whoever it was Carl Malden played, while you guys got the likes of Charlie's Angels!!!  Damned unfair I call it!)

We     hate reality (SP) shows we watch tv to be taken away to "never never land" I can't stand seeing people making total idiots of them selves unless it's a comedy

You'd be surprised I think. It's often easier to get into the 'big boys' than into small independants.
It may have changed now, but there was a time when the buying teams of some large groups were under instruction to 'see' everyone who made an appointment.
They didn't necessarily have to buy, but that important foot was in the door.
The downside is that they always negotiate killer discounts, take 60 days to pay, and if the order is cancelled it's a big one to lose, especially if you've turned others down to accommodate it.

The fact that this product has had such wide publicity is the big advantage - I'd probably buy a few to sell in our shop if we did lingerie!

I loathe The Apprentice programme  .....if indeed you could call it that..................it never ceases to amaze me the ridiculously crass things they boast themselves to be (can't escape the trailers)

On the Mary Portas thing   she currently has varying alliances with varying manufacturers  one of which we do buy into.....
Mary Portas   and Charnos     the hosiery side of the brand      apparently women in their forties don't know how to dress and she's on a mission to show us how    as a small independent i've found that the product sells whilst she's on the telly  and pales away when she's not.......and it's priced at a premium product level...
I noticed on my last buying trip to London she has an endorsement with Clarkes shoes     some great styles i thought but a quick 30 +/-   more than a Clarkes branded shoe
Torreya

'Reality' shows

I usually hate ALL of them!!  Mary Portas is prob the best, and I've just heard that she may be 're-vamping' Walsall..........that I have GOT to see!!

Everyone needs a challenge in life.
