Yellow Hammers

Another first for Morfa Nefyn Orchard. I can't recall ever having seen any Yellow Hammers on our place before but this morning there's been a small flock of about six or seven of them feeding in one the  pig fields that's been allowed to run fallow over the winter. I feel quite elated and privileged  at having seen them .

We have a few locally but nothing like the numbers of about 15 years ago.

I haven't seen any locally for yonks. They used to be a pretty common sight in the countryside around here.

Same here, aint seen one in years, I remember finding a Yellow Hammer's nest when I was about 10 or 11 years old, I was over the moon about, and told nobody at all where it was haha
