Worst job of the week.

It's Wednesday and I'm off to the abattoir again. Just rung up and been told I don't need to be there till 12 so no hurry. Hopefully the rain will stop before I have to load the pigs. It's the worst job of the week not because of anything to do with the abattoir or taking pigs to slaughter, but because it's a dead boring 100 mile round trip in a noisy, draughty Land Rover. I always stop in Starbucks for a coffee and a muffin on the way back and the girls in there have my order ready as soon as they see me coming across the car park!

Its a 136 mile round trip for me. It really does take the shine off things doesn't it?

Home slaughter here pigs finished in the paddock & 300m or so to the 'butchery' Don't envy you the trip.

Mind you I'm doing a 450 mile round trip every other week for paid work & I don't envy me that much either

It does indeed. Today it was fairly easy though. I got there just as they were ready to start the pigs. Straight in, unloaded the pigs straight into the stunning pen and they were done there and then. Much better that way. No waiting around for me or the pigs.
