Wood store.

Yesterday, my mate came around and together we sawed some unseasoned pine up.

Over the next few days, I'll have to get the log splitter out and split and stack it in the log store. It'll give me something to do.
I'll carry into the store and forget about it as it dries out and seasons.  Its pretty heavy at the moment but will be considerably drier by the time its ready to burn. Hopefully, we'll have enough of the dry stuff to see us through the winter.

Here's some that we stacked much earlier. The first picture shows the timber that's already been in there for sometime and the second one, the stuff that's gone in more recently. You should be able to see the difference in colour.

One of my great pleasures in life is looking at all the logs I've cut up. I love my wood store!!

I've spent a smashing morning on the log splitter. I think that most of us have a little bit of squirrel in us.

It sounds as though it might be a good job that we've got plenty of wood stored for this winter. The bookies have apparently cut their odds down on us having a white Christmas down from 5 to 1 down to 2 to 1, with 36 days of snow and temperatures down to minus 16.

We brought more wood from the field at the weekend for the fire. Still have a tree trunk to tackle! That will happen next week as it's half term. Lots of jobs to do....pics will follow! X

No, you're just nuts...

I asked for that. Being nuts certainly helps.
