Bodger, you got my sympathy. It's no joke - I had gout off and on for over 20 years and it b****y agonisingly painful. Generally in one of my big toes but occasionally in a knee or ankle. Now I've only got one real knee that gives it 50% less chance there. Last time I had it was 20 months ago, touch wood,  in hospital having a knee replaced, the gout was in the 'good' knee of course!
Lootus

I feel old when I wake up and look in the mirror.

I feel old because I am now 42 years old, my dad and best friend both died when they were 42. In a few weeks I will be older than my best friend was.
I wish I was 20 again and I could do everything I wanted without pain.

you know you are getting old when,

everytime you bend down, you let out a groan, unwittingly.....

or when you get up, you need a hand.....lol....

policemen/women are getting younger

doctors are young enough to be your son/daughter

you start to wear sensible length skirts, not belts

you cannot resist coo cooing at babies in prams

the idea of having a sports car starts to get really appealing, instead of having a practical saloon or estate car

you become a BAMBI ( born again middleaged biker idiot ...lol...)

you cant sleep all night without getting up for a wee

your grandchildren, aged 6 and 9, know how to work the new wii better than you do !!!!

it takes you longer to install new machines, and have to read the instructions

wear your glasss round your neck, on a chain so you know where they are, or like me, on top of your head.

keep putting things down, only to forget where you put them.

become a natural grandmother at 32, and now having a grandaughter of 20.......and i still feel as young as her when i am out, untill i catch my reflection in a window......

decide, when buying a new 3 pce suite, recliners would be nice, then actually buying them.

Pel

doesn't make feel old, but not young either:

Thinking i hope those kids outside won't knock my plants over with the football.. as it bangs on the window.  Then i remember i used to do things and think, crikey I sound like a grumpy old women and i'm not even 25!

Also having a nephew 3 years younger than yourself doesnt make me feel old, especially when going to a pub and i get ID but he doesnt, its the fact i'm an Aunty 10 times.. with a likely hood that i could also be a great aunt by the time i get to 30.. as at that age i'd have 1 niece and 1 nephew at 20, and one at 27... the niece i can imagine getting pregnant young when not wanting to, which is a shame to think.
