What type of Laurel is this please?

My Boo was very poorly recently & the vet said she had eaten something posionous. I found her chomping on a berry from my neighbours Laurel bush today and so may have found the culprit but not sure if its the poisionous to dogs variety. Need to get my facts right before I wonder next door to ask him to trim it below the fence!

Rare one

could be a cherry laurel , have a look at this site it might help .Good Luck. www.dfordog.co.uk/didyouknow_toxic_plants.htm

Thanks R1 had a look but still not sure if its a cherry or another type.

I don't know which type it is but I think that all Laurel's are poisonus if eaten.  Unfortunately you can't ask that your neighbour cut his hedge down (unless you are in an area where there is a height limit for hedges) as hedges are not classed in the same way as fence panels etc in most areas.  You can however cut off any branches that come over your side of the fence so long as you return them to him, ie. chuck them back over to his side.  You could always ring up your local council and find out the regulations in your area before speaking to your neighbour.
