What is it?I was playing in the kitchen this lunchtime, making what started as a relish to go on a burger...
Finely diced red onion, chopped tomatoes, two big cloves of garlic - very finely diced, finely diced medium chilli, diced apple and some sultanas, some mixed spice and cloves (removed before bottling), a slug of cyder vinegar and the same of Calvados.
Simmered till it's not quite a mush, bottled and sealed in sterilised jars.
I tried a sample before bottling it up, it tasted ok, but what is it?
Vile filthy mush?
I thought I'd keep it 'til Christmas then see what it's like...
