If you read up on Welsummers, then I think you'll find that they're a breed that's not supposed to go broody. I did have one that made a half hearted attempt at going broody last year and now I've got one that's been sitting on nothing for the last three days.

I'm going to give her a go with some eggs and see how she goes on.

I've just finished putting the final touches to a place for her. Has anyone else had Welsummers that have gone broody?

I've a couple that go broody each year. Initially I didn't set them as I wasn't convinced they would go the time but last year I relented with one, she turned out to be a great mum.

I slipped eight eggs under her last night and she seems fine with them.
