Theakstons Best

Anyone like it???

I've got 30 litres of wort boiling away in the garage at the moment which hopefully will end up as 25 litres of Theakstons best bitter in a couple of weeks.  Smells bdooly lovely too!!
Bryggmester

Hope the brewday has gone well. Was that an invitation? Pity I live so far away..

Oh yes!
Jonty

Had a bit of a disaster, my boiler (which you boil the wort in for 90 minutes) packed in twice during the boil.  Both times involved decanteing the wort into another vessel, cleaning the elements on the boiler and then starting again.  I reckon it'll end up not all that much like theaksons after the fannying around.  Anyway, Brygmeister & Mo, if you want to quality control, get yourself a bottle of the original from the offy and I'll gladly stick a bottle of mine in the post.

That's a very kind offer ... and I might take you up on it

If you're really good, I'll put a bottle of stout in too....
Mo

Are you sure you're a Yorkshireman?

Jonty

Aye, I wasn't going to put any stamps on the parcel.

If it turns out any good I'll box one or two up in a few weeks time.

Nice one

I'm trying to think what I can barter.
Last year's Cider is not good enough for sharing, and you'll have a long wait for this years, But we'll gladly send you some if it's up to scratch?
Jonty

That sounds like a plan. Funily enough I bottled some of my cider last night.  I reckon it needs to rest somewher dark for a few months before it's safe to consume....
