The OTG Calendar 2013

Right, before we move on to the topic of the 2013 calendar, we would like to thank everyone who entered photographs for this years' calendar. The standard of the calendar just gets better every year. This years' is absolutely fantastic and we are going to have to go some to better it.
This year, we are going to do things slightly differently. Instead of having each month as a seperate heading, we are simply asking for you to put photographs that you wish to be considered onto this thread as the seasons go by.
Be prepared for a constant nagging for suitable photographs   and we would like to thank you in advance for your efforts.

We are looking for all sorts of images, country crafts, nature, gardening, historical buildings, hunting, fishing, animals and scenic pictures etc. - all the sort of things that OTG stands for.

We know that you can do it, let's make the 2013 calendar one to remember.

Can we put our own photo's?
Or do you just want us to nominate any we see posted that we think should be considered?
Sorry if I'm being a Numpty

Greetings one and all,
As you will be aware we have started a new thread for the entries for the 2013 OTG Calendar and below i will be stating what we require and how it will work but firstly i personally wanted to say thank you for sharing all of your lovely images last year,it's nice to see the splendour from Great Britain and other parts of the world i never get to see.

This is roughly how it will work...every 4 to 6 weeks i will be going through the images submitted for that period and will choose a selection that will then go to a couple of other's to look at,and when we have come to a decision i will contact the relevent member and get the original JPEG file that was first uploaded to your P.C from the Camera so keep hold of a copy on the P.C just in case.

It is much better for the printer's to work with the original files where they have not been edited(i.e cropped, resized bightness etc, etc) as they contain the most information thus giving the best printing quality resolution wise.
Ideally i am looking for images from a camera that is 5 mega-pixel and above, the original JPEG file size on a 5 mega-pixel camera when first uploaded to a P.C from the Camera will be around 1.5mb and have a resolution of 2520x1984 but obviously rises with more mega-pixels,my camera for example is a 10 mega-pixel camera and produce's JPEG file sizes of 5 to 6mb with a resolution of 3648x2736.

Next is the style that it is taken in,i will leave a couple of example's below..it is best if we have them in the particular 'Landscape' style as they will fill more of the calendar and not in the 'portrait' style which will leave a lot of space each side of the image.

This is an example of the style which is what we want for the calendar

and not where the camera is flipped on its side like this...

I hope this all makes sense but if anyone has any questions then dont hesitate to PM me and i will help as much as i can.
Take care all and i really, really, really look forward to seeing all of your image's...now for a bit of inspiration to us all and a quote from one of the Godfather's of Photography.

"Above all,I craved to seize the whole essence,in the confines of one single photograph,of some situation that was in the process of unrolling itself before my eyes"
