The Old Company Car...

...of the Family building firm
bodger

I just love these sort of pictures. I wonder whether or not in fifty years time what we're doing now will evoke the same sort of nostalgia? I some how doubt it.

I've 'wasted' a whole afternoon going through a box of old photos I came across  whilst tidying the house ready for Christmas visitors

I was trying to date the photo - Jack died this year aged 87 I'm guessing he was possibly early 20's, may be a little younger ? in the photo.

The photo was taken in the paddock where my hybrid layers are now kept.

Lovely photo - I, too, really enjoy seeing old photos. Can you name the dog?(or even the pony) Going through the old family album, my son was intrigued that I couldn't name long dead ancestors, but could name their dogs
Digindeep

Me too, would like to name the dog.

Also does the original "Car" still exist...?

that would top it  all

Great Pic' thanks for sharing...............................

it's my husband's family - the photo was taken in approx.1942.

The dog was called the Jip, the pony was possibly Peggy.

I'm afraid the cart is long gone, although we do still have some of the old tack

Here's one of my Mum's Dad on his work steed.
This would be around 1925-30ish in Dronfield, near Sheffield.

The alsatian's name was Leo. I don't know the horse's name but Grandad was called Arthur Pearson.
They ran a nursery garden (Birchin Lea - St George's) specialising in fruit - rhubarb, strawberries, goosgobs, red & black currants, apples, etc, etc.

My brothers and I spent many a day in the late '50s chasing pigeons, scromping fruit, swimming in the river and stuff.
Ahh..... memories.
