syphoning petrol from micra

Hi all. got a little problem.. i filled my micra with petrol then two days later the car has died on me, can't get it repaired until after crimbo so i could do with syphoning the petrol out of it to use in my other car, anyone got any idea if there is an easy was to do it, petrol filler has anti syphon plates fitted.

Probably easiest to disconnect the fuel line from downstream of the filter, then run a length of pipe from the filter outlet into a container...........disconnect the distributor cap, then run the car on the starter to pump the fuel out

Most cars have an anti syphoning device fitted these days.

A warm welcome to the forum sundancer.

We had a similar problem with an old Subaru  - 70 of petrol sitting in it and we couldnt get it out - tried everything. Scrapped it in the end....where are the pykies when you need them to show you how its done! Love Lizzie

if your tank is under the rear floor it could be possible to get to the gauge sender unit remove that and syphon it out. there might be a plate under the rear seat  good luck

when you disconnect the fuel pipe disconnect the fuel pump and connect a 12 v battery so it will run the pump untill  tank is empty i had an old fuel pump i used to get some derv out of a mates van he was towing his stock car wit my fuel pump on it  so we took pump off that and made it pump out 120 ltrs of derv was much quicker any way.
