Sticklebacks?

We deliberately left our garden wildlife pond devoid of fish but? Its something that I've mentioned before, we now fancy stocking it with sticklebacks. In your youth, I'm pretty sure that like me you caught hundreds if not thousands of them but where have all the sticklebacks gone? All my old haunts have either disappeared or are devoid of them. Does anyone know of any, because this little boy would like some. I've got a bucket and a brand new aerator ready to come and collect.

You can buy them off the World Wide Web.
I put "sticklebacks for sale" and Google found 19,800 results in 0.29 seconds.

I used to spend days, in my youth, in the River Rivelin watching, catching and messing about and the blighters were everywhere.
Can't say that I've done it for the past 45 to 50 years though - I've had bigger fish to fry.

I'm the same Martyn. I loved catching them as a little kid and later I used then under a little bob float as pike and perch bait. I used to get loads of little jack pike with them.

There used to be hundreds in every stream when I was a kid. Haven't seen any for years!
