Karen and I are going to this place tomorrow for a day out.

I've visited Slimbridge quite a few times over the years, starting when I was just a kid.

Brilliant place at any time but extra special now with the migrants arriving

We'll be going down in the good old cider van, so that we can take some furniture down to my son who lives near Cheltenham, so with all the migrants arriving, do you think I'd better check the back of my van before we leave?

You have today to to fit a big padlock on the back doors

There were loads of geese flying south yesterday over our house in Durham so the birds are really coming in now.

I went there on a school outing back in the 1950's. Fascinated by the active duck decoy with four tubes. Ducks were "Leg Ringed.)  Is it still in use

Its still there and they've recreated an interesting ' old decoyers hut' but I'm not sure that they still use the decoy tunnel.

We were introduced to Peter Scott who went out of his way to talk to us and identify some of the wildfowl.  We had no idea who he was!!!  Nice chap as I remember.

His autobiography 'Eye of the Wind' is well worth getting hold of.
