Sleeping Fox

When I was out feeding the Dog's this morning I could see a Fox asleep under a hedge in My nieghbours field. Hurried back for Shotgun and a couple of heavy shells. I can't shoot anything in this particular field so I have to squeak them onto My land, got Myself set behind a hedge and gave a sqeak. what usually happens is the Fox thinks He's onto an easy meal of rabbit or vole and comes straight towards Me. This morning when I squeaked he looked up started in My direction, then went the other way, first time that has ever happened?. A few seconds later I realised why, as our Red Burmese jumped onto the hedge instead! bdooly Cat!

The last time I saw a fox asleep under a hedge it had serious hepatitis from an old wound I think.

Should have gone to Spec Savers.

I think this one has a Vixen with cubs nearby, He looks well enough and I expect he's the one that went over a 5ft fence a couple of weeks ago and took a L/S cockeral. He's very bold I've seen Him on a couple of other occasions walking along My nieghbours bottom Hedge.

I would have thought it is a bit early for fox cubs as they are normally born in March.

I have also seen foxes asleep over ground in the winter, normally in sheltered places, catching the late morning sun.

My GWP took asleeping fox about a month ago.

You can find cubs in February but you'd think that the harsh winter would have knocked them back a bit.

Stranger things have happened. Pigeon shooting in recent weeks has produced 2 juvenile Woody's.

I have to seperate my domestic pigeons otherwise they'd be at it for 12 months of the year.

My domestic pigeons breed like Rabbits except only 2 at a time but they never stop .Not true of Woodpigeons.

What sort of pigeons have you got bagzi ?

I call them white garden Pigeons? I was given 3 a couple of years ago. I've recently had a cull as thier numbers had risen to over 70 You could be right about Woody's I've never shot juveniles in winter before?
