Siver paint?

Much to my shame  I've found some of my old sea fishing lures that have become rather tarnished, if not rusty.  Fishing spinners can be pretty expensive and the one's that I've found could be perfectly serviceable again, if I give them new treble hooks and sand them down, followed by a quick paint job with chrome like paint.
The paint obviously needs to give a nice sparkly finish and I was wondering if people could come up with suggestions as to what sort of paint I should be looking to get?
Gareth

You'll not get a chrome like finish  paint without parting with a good sized wedge, but grey primer and wheel silver paint from Halfords or your local motor factor shop might do.

Dura-glit or solvol-autosol should be sufficient enough to clean up the lures and then maybe add some colourful reflective prism tape to one side using some epoxy resin will do a lovely job. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hologra...7640?var=&hash=item4640128a78

I don't suppose sorting them out for me if I post them to you?
I've taken a photo of them, which I'll get Kaz to put on here later on today.
Gareth

Go on then!

I just so happens I will be spraying gloss Aluminium silver enamel paint on Wednesday or Thursday next week, and I'm certain I have some blue prism tape and clear epoxy resin about in my lure craft box.
bodger

You're a goodun  This is what you'll be letting yourself in for. I did say they were a tad rusty.

Gareth

Cut the hooks and swivels off, and I'll do the rest.

I do not want any sharps in the post please, as Ruth our postie is a very good friend: I've known her for years............... she was my next door neighbour when I had my flat.
bodger

If a hook stuck in her, then she'd be the first thing I'd have caught in years.
Will do. PM that address of yours again please.
bodger

Any news on the spinners yet Gareth?
bodger

bodger

Bump!
bodger

Gareth, could you send me my spinners back, I'll have a go at them myself. Its 2016 .
Yorkshire Geordie

Looks like he's gone AWOL, Bodger.
You could say he's got you "hook, line and sinker!"
Joking, honestly.

At least you know that he'll make a reel good job of them...
Border

Bodger....... you know Gareth will be making a blinking good job of them, and that takes time.
Border

....or maybe he thought they were crappie and sole(d) them, taking the proceeds to the Swordfish pub to sample a bass with John Dory, but Jack Dempsey gave him a loosejaw and a shiner.
He then retried back to his plaice and ate a bowl of pumpkinseed.
Jaycee

He's just spun you a line.
Yorkshire Geordie

When he gives them back, all new looking, I think he will be let off the hook.

I would have trawled the net for newer, rather than carp on so much.

If you can think of a better fish pun.........

.........let minnow.

Yes, of course you are correct, Honk-Honk, but the thread lures you in, and I still think the whole episode is a bit fishy.

12Bore

We can spinner this out for weeks yet...
Yorkshire Geordie

I know a wet plaice that these jokes can go.

Can we get there by huss?
bodger

He's still in de Nile. He hasn't phoned , he hasn't written, he don't talk !
Yorkshire Geordie

He's probably busy taking his Norfolk pictures; making snap decisions.
Best to hold the line but give some slack, maybe.
I bet he's really having a whale of a time though.
Martyn
HonkHonk

I don't know but I bet eel feel a bit embarrassed when he seas this.
Border

I get the feeling, that maybe Gareth has been lured to "arsebook" and therefore jumped ship.
Border

well well well, the answer to where the missing fishing blinks are, has been revealed on "arsebook"

Very good - but only if you're a Facebook account holder.
I'm not and I very much doubt that I ever will be!
OR Twitter, Linkedin, Pinterest, Tumblr, Instagram,Reddit, etc......

Wasted two minutes of my life watching that video.

Thought at first it must be bodger's revenge. I was expecting anthrax powder or at least a small explosion.

Must have nothing better to do with his life.  A pm to bodgy saying they hadn't arrived would have been a lot simpler.

Did you mean this video?

and it only took 10 months and few days to arrive via Royal Mail post.

But more importantly look how it was packed.. ... ... .. what looks to be an old envelope folded over and stapled shut, with absolutely no thought or effort made for either wrapping or packing the contents anywhere near properly............. and that is probably why the package has become ripped open in transit and all but one of the items have fallen out and been lost somewhere between Pwllheli and here.
bodger

It would have been better if You'd PM'd me back in August 2016 when I sent you the spinners. I can't understand why you didn't.

I took the hooks off the spinners and sent them without them. The envelope was a heavy duty one, which was then sealed and then for good measure, folded over and stapled.  I took quite a bit of care in parcelling the spinners.
