Right, that does it! .... .... ....

.... .... .... I've had enough of paperwork and red tape for today ...... I'm off out fishing at 2 O'clock this afternoon ....... I've been that busy lately that I've not yet wet a line so far this season, and it's about time I did.

Conditions are almost perfect: overcast cloudy sky, almost clear water, wind ruffled surface ripple, falling river level on a rising tide.

This session I will be going right back to my Piking roots and only going out with 4 lures in my pocket; a 12g Abu Reflex Spinner in Red, a 14g Realimage Spinner bait in blue, an unweighted 3" Black & White Banjo Minnow soft bait, and a floating 16g X 5" Realimage Pikeminnow crankbait in natural Pike pattern.

Travel light, rove far, cast often!

I know a man who takes four lures in each pocket.............

Good luck Gareth.

2 decent Perch at just over 2lbs each and another at about ūlb, and one half decent (for the Wensum) Chub almost going 4lbs in less than 2 hours ... I've only come home early because it started to sleet .... yes sleet! when the wind suddenly changed from the SW to NE

Alas, no Pike today, but if the weather is good in the morning I may just give it another go. High water at Gorleston on Sea (mouth of the Yare) is at 05.01 am so that will mean it will be high water at around 9.00am on the Wensum in Norwich City centre, which I hope will make for one or two interesting slack water areas that could hold the Pike:thumbup:

Bodger can tell you that I turned up with well over 50 different lures for an afternoon's fishing from the rocks. ....... and that the 4 fish that were caught that afternoon (none by me ) all fell to a modified stainless steel serving (cutlery) spoon handle that had been drilled out for a hook at one end, and a swivel at the other.
