Rats in the compost bin...............

Noticed signs of rats around our compost bin recently, so wired in some wax blocks to get rid of them.........................I've had two youngsters so far, including one that I found right by the blocks earlier this morning. I lifted the lid to dispose of it a minute ago, only to see another young one with its teeth in the block munching way. Quick bit of action with the fire tongs saw this one across the Great Divide too

That's 3 of the oderous little b'stards so far................hope there ain't too many more to go

Its a real pain. As we both know, the only good rat is dead one.

Rats hate the evil things I go with bodger

My lovely eccentric "neighbour" down the lane who sits with the bedroom window open and a shotgun at 3 in the morning to get the fox going past has taken to putting a nice tray of food in her yard and picking off the rats with an air rifle when they come for it.

Great stuff

hope your disposing of them correctly, and not simply putting them in the general waste bin for landfill'

think about secondary poisoning' and read the label'

I'm sure that everyone does, thanks for your timely reminder.

Akshully! For small numbers it's perfectly legal to dispose of the carcasses in your household waste, as long as they're properly bagged
