R.I.P Baby Bear

My puppy Bear sadly passed away in my arms on Thursday.

Bear Bedlington/whippet x JRT  Bedlington/whippet x patterdale was just 8 months old.

We were out walking when he suddenly went down and didn't get up. I carried him the mile back to the car fearing the worst all the while and drove him to the nearest vets and just barged in on them.

The vet was lovely but I can hardly remember what he said! He thinks it was a stroke.

Bear died in my arms in the vets.

R.I.P Bear.

So sorry to hear your news about your youngster.  :sad10:  May he rest in peace and join friends at Rainbow Bridge.

Chin up - it will get easier in time.  At least you were there with him at the end.

:sad10:  its gut wrenching when one of your fur baby's goes to the bridge :sad11: my thoughts are with you

that is one of the sad things about having animals, we know evntually they will leave us.......but to go at such a young age is awful.......
thankfully he had a good lif and was out enjoying himself when his time came......

I'm so sorry to hear about Bear. Such a young pup as well.

RIP Bear... forever young.

Sad news indeed the loss of such a young dog, run free baby bear.

Thinking of you.

I've followed Bear on LL from when you first had him and were after a name for him so I was shocked when I heard this news - you have all the happy puppy memories of him :sad11:

:sad11:  :sad11:

Thanks everyone for your kind words.

We are still in shock.

It doesn't feel right just having one dog around the place.

We were actually thinking about getting no. 3 dog before this happened and I still want to go ahead. I know no dog will replace Bear but it does seem quiet round here now! And our remaining dog can't seem to settle on her own.

You know you will find a lovely little one.  Raiyes Charvelettes (very special breed   ) looks gorgeous, especially the hairy little Indie.  Good luck whatever you decide, I know how hard it was last time - make a wish, say a prayer, leave it to fate - you know the best way.

Devastating for you, what a horrible thing to have happen. :smt103  :sad11:

sorry to hear of your losHEAVEN'S DOGGY-DOOR

your best friend closed his eyes last
night, As his head was in your hand.
The Doctors said he was in pain,
And it was hard for him to stand.

The thoughts that scurried through
your head, As you cradled him inyour arms.
Were of his younger, puppy years,
And OH...his many charms.

Today, there was no gentle nudge
With an intense "I love you gaze",
Only a heart thats filled with tears
Remembering our joy filled days.

But an Angel just appeared ,
And he said, "You should cry no more,
GOD also loves our canine friends,
HE's installed a 'doggy-door"!

The dogs who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know
their spirit still survives.
Old habits still make us think
we hear a barking at the door.
Or step back when we drop
a tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place
the food dish used to be,
And, sometime, coming home at night,
we miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends
and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
belongs to them...
and always will.

so sad. made me upset all day. poor little bear.

Heartfelt condolences to you and yours. RIP pup go run and play with your new angel doggy friends.   :sad10:

So very very sad. It made me cry my eyes out.
