How old are they now? Apart from the white on their chests, at this stage it looks as though the lab has won hands down.

They'll be almost 12 months old now bodger, definatley thrown to the Lab' side, the owner of the bitch told me that she had had a litter 2 years previous with another liver and white spaniel and the same thing happened then, I was tempted to have a pup but we have made the decision to go for a smaller dog next.
bodger

Its tempting but you can't keep them all.
Carnach

They look adorable - but I'll stick to Springers.
HonkHonk

Yeah carnach I agree if you are wanting working gundogs there are plenty of breeds to choose from without cross breeding, these were bred to be pets, the lady had friends asking if she would be repeating the earlier breeding as she had kept a pup back and they all wanted the same, I think she had 5 orders before the mating , the bitch had 9 pups.
She also has a young ESS bitch that she is hoping to work soon.
Carnach

I don't have any issues with people  crossing two working breeds generally, I just prefer Springers.
But the designer dogs for fashion and are just mongrels so far as I'm concerned.  But some people will pay loads of money for dogs with supposedly cute names and two breeds worth of health problems - not for me though.
budgie

lovely looking dogs!! Carnach i'm know what you mean a chap i know just paid 850 for a cockerpoo??!?!?!?! i got a lurcher all jabbed up for 150 they are both mutts/xbreeds he just paid stupid money for a made up name!!!!
HonkHonk

Cheers budgie    Yes i'm in total agreement with you both there, I agreed to using my dog as stud because the breeder wanted a L&W Springer and she was going to get one weather or not, so as mine is a big strong healthy dog with plenty of FTCs in his make up, and I won't lie to you as she was going to get a dog from somewhere I may aswell have the stud fee as the next dog owner.

I was talking to a guy last week about dogs and he informed me that he owned a Jug    A JRT x Pug apparently.

As I was speaking to him in a work related cappacity I couldn't ask anymore as i'd probably have gone too far with my personal views
bodger

Lurchers are  designer dogs but are bred with for a very good reason.
Carnach

Agreed Bodger, lurchers are designer dogs (as are most of the pedigree breeds) but they are not bred for 'fashion and '.
sod

They look so very cute and can see why people would love them. BUT I love DOGS
Border

Nice strong porky looking pups there mate.

As for designer dogs.......don't get me started.
barraboy

i remember in my teens late70s/early 80s deerhound/grey crosses were very fashionable amongst a lot of people many not from the working fraternity,,,,i was more of a collie cross man myself, yup i admit it teenager under the spell of DBP.
