A few snippits....
Arran Pilot; tubers planted on April 20th were ready for lifting on 25th July in Cannock Chase. A heavy cropper. Quality medium. Not extensively grown in England and Wales.
Ninetyfold; Fourteen days earlier than any other variety, but the flavour is soapy. Seed tubers liable to go off with dry rot after delivery. Not recommended.

There are loads more. The book was obviously to help after the war years, both home growers  and allotmenteers..
I've only just found the book...got to be honest 'its intersting'....only 400 pages plus to wade through.
Realy don't know where it came from....
there are listing for Pests and Diseases...suck as  'Nicotine- Soap Wash',
'Lead Arsenate Wash', 'White Oil Emulsion', 'Quassia Solution' and
'Poison Bran Bait'.
Pretty sure most are now banned......
I'll keep reading...

I've put extracts from it on here in the past and its an absolute gem.
