You obviously don't have striped paint over in the States BB?  It's one of the many items we ofdten send you n apprentices to the stores to get for us overhere, along with other things such as glass hammers, long stands, sky hooks etc...
Woodsmoke

Left-handed screwdrivers, tartan paint, spare bubble for a spirit level..................
Pilsbury

bucket of steam, leg of salmon.....
Border

Send the new boys down to the stores for a long weight or sky hooks.

When I worked offshore all the new lads were sent to the stores for the keys to the v-door. (Gareth will understand that)

'V-door'.............guide for the drill-pipe sections on an oilrig, Tracy. The pipes are lifted from the stack & dragged into the 'V' to get them in the right position before being hoisted up to the derrick & screwed onto the drill-string

Woodsmoke

Yep! Don't trust any of 'em..........
