Pic of the Day (Lets see your Best Friends)

Thought everyone could share some pictures of their dogs while you are out with them.

Here are mine New Years Day

Lets see some of your dogs
darkbrowneggs

Smashing dogs and lovely photos - I especially like the 4th one down with the dogs in the dried grass, you should maybe submit that for next years calendar.

I would have job taking a photo of mine outside as she thinks its far too muddy and is currently ensconced on the settee in front of the fire
kaz

Lovely photos Dave
We must take the camera with us next time.
sod

Lovely dogs and as others said great photos, will try get some of ours
Wilder

Wonderful photos, and the weather there was obviously a lot better than it was here on New Year's Day!

I'll try and take the camera with me tomorrow.
darkbrowneggs

Ok this is a cheat because they are not mine, but I loved it so much when I saw it on t'internet a few years ago that I saved it.

It was called Fire Dogs  -  You can tell I am a Great Dane owner

chicken feed

now no one has every told these 2 they are working dogs, their favourite pass time is finding a nice comfy chair and hope no one finds them

Wilder

Here is Maddie yesterday, when I walked her down to 'our' lake.

By the time I got her back I had a West Highland Brown and White, but she loved it, and I couldn't even tell her off when she cleaned herself on our white rug.

Lovely piccies
barraboy

lots of photos of mine all over OTG but i'll give a wee update since im here.

the wife and i started off with these two old boys who were 9 in Nov

the wee killer, gone but never forgotten [especially as we had a pesky rodent in the garden] been just over a year since we lost him, he still adorns the OTG frontpage

they were joined by the cocker taking us up to 4 altho sadly not long after we were back down to 3

and finally in October last year we had the wee ESS come in bringing us back up to 4

thats pretty much how things stand at the moment. one layabout lab, one semi-retired lab and two spaniels one started the other very much beginning.
Dave C

Very nice bb

Just what I thought too
barraboy

think the wee vizla has ambitions above her station in the running dept
looking good
Dave C

Yeh, she is not quite as big as her atitude
Yorkshire Geordie

This is Biscuit.
Being a small dog she feels the cold and appreciates her coat.

When she's not sitting down shivering she enjoys a good chase around.

These two shots were taken some time ago and she now appreciates home comforts more.
She's never been a working terrier but has caught the odd rabbit and squirrel.
She only barks at them nowadays.

Shes a bonny little thing

My 2 yesterday.
Dave C

Smart looking dogs, they look real handy
sod

great looking dogs, what is the collar for
yeeharr

It's a beeper collar. When she's working thick cover it beeps every 5 or 10 seconds while she's moving and beeps continuously when she stops. It's designed with pointers in mind, it indicates when they are on point.  She's just short of 6 months so I'm just getting her used to the weight and the noise.
sod

Thank you I have never seen one here, only "anti bark" and "training" collars neither of which we have ever used

Northern Lass

These are my whippets. Working dogs, allegedly....

Also camping dogs - Rocket loves snuggling up anywhere, this time in a hammock.

Here they are again - Wicket on the left.

Wicket is more diligent about her hunting:

But Rocket knows she's adorable too.

HonkHonk

Love the whippets and lurchers
Jakey, did you stay at Rob and Carol's site up there?
HonkHonk

Not only has my daughter got a brand new baby she also has a brand new pup.

Keep the dog pictures coming
HonkHonk

This is Sally, I had to rehome her as Jane's staffy type was attacking her every so often, I was very dissapointed to have to let her go but Chi (staffy) was here first, she now courses the countryside around Pwhelli.

The Team
HonkHonk

Nice little pack there Dave, I know to a lot of people all Spaniels look the same but yours is the double of mine.
Border

Good looking bunch you have there Dave.

HPR have a soft point in my heart.

What do you use her for?
Dave C

Thanks,

I love rough shooting over the Wire Viz and was shooting rabbits over her last week, but during the season she is mainly used the same as the others, as all rounders on the shoot
So rough shooting, beating, picking up, duck flighting and on vermin out of season.

The Lab & Wire Viz worked 30+ days last season as well as duck flights
Her daughter ( the other Lab ) is only 8 months and the springer 11 month now, so bring on next season
Border

I personally think that HPR's are the only "all round" gundog, but these spaniel owners just won't have it.

There's nothing better than rough shooting over HPR'S is there. I love shooting woodcock over my GWP's.
Dave C

I totally agree Border mate .

I also get sick of arguing with Spaniel owners!!!!!
So I decided to join them
fleurie

Indeed - what beauties - referring to Captain Cockerel's post. ONE day we might have another GSD - if the right rescue falls into our lives!
sapphire

love spaniels   will get another one day
HonkHonk

Here is Barney again, 6 years and 3 months old and he still loves playing on the bales.

[img][/img]
kaz

It looks as though he's been in the water as well
HonkHonk

Yes there is a stream or two that come out under the wall of the estate, and being a spaniel - well ya know, he is never out of them haha.
sod

great to see a happy dog
12Bore

Border

I keep tellin yer to get an " all round" gundog.

He's always looked good mate, credit to you.
sapphire

He is a really lovely boy HH, great photo
HonkHonk

thanks peeps, Border, it wouldn't matter what breed of gundog I had right now as Idont ever have the time to use him to do what he was bred for, i'm always at work
Dave C

Dam that work, it always gets in the way

That takes me back a few years, I used to have a t-shirt with that slogan on in the late 80s
zboo

A couple of silly ones from today - not photographically very good but they give some idea of why Ben is such a delight to have around!

Splash!

Um...I didn't really think this through...

HonkHonk

Pic 2. How many times have I seen that expression, as if he is asking for a hand up.
Dave C

First day on the Grouse Moor
Just a small local shoot, 47 1/2 Brace shot, which is a cracking day for them.

The dogs worked well and picked well at the end of the drives
We also took my son Charlie's Lab pup I bred last year, who picked a respectable 7 birds from 5 drives
horace

They look keen
Border

Sounds good mate.

47.5 brace, well done to the guns.

What a brace of grouse fetching this season?
Dave C

The Lab bitch I bred last year and kept
Now 14 months
