Pasteurizing?

Is honey pasteurized in the uk...I can't remember?  I buy my honey from a local producer here, unpasteurized raw honey.....buckwheat, which I love. Just wondered.

I don't think so.

Never heard of pasteurising honey. Ours just goes into the jars as it comes out of the comb.

I think honey didn't require any treatment due to the natural anti bacterial elements? The water content would evaporate from pasteurisation?

We span about 40 pounds of honey tonight it was mighty fine!

Some of our capped honeycomb was left previously for over a year in a hive box and although it solidified it was fine, though a little difficult to extract.

Once you get used to a bit of chewy wax it's not so bad!

not in Uk.  We sell filtered but unpasteurised.  No need for it if coming from sealed comb.
