One for the oldies.

One for the oldies, young sprogs need not apply.

If you'd been born by then, on this day in 1966 England won the Football World Cup in London, beating West Germany 4 - 2.  England forward Geoff Hurst became the only man to score a hat-trick in a world cup final.

If you were anything more than a twinkle in your dads eye, can you remember where you were when England won the world cup? My brother Jake and I were on a camping holiday with our mum and dad in Bridport.

I polished my Vespa 125cc in the morning, and sold it at lunchtime, bought a Vespa 150cc sport right away ,and rode to my cousins house 15 miles away and watched the last 70min's of the game , being a scot  i was more pleased with the scoot than the result !

Lido de Jesolo, Italy. 17 for 10 nights full board and traveled virtually non stop by coach from London's Victoria Coach Station to Jesolo. Coach drivers actually changed over on the move along a German Motorway.

Yes, I was just coming up for two as well and I'm sure I was being a pain in the wotsit as well - mind you, with parents like mine, I'm sure they deserved it!
mrs tiggywinkle

I was just coming up to 12 and had spent the day at the stables riding my pony.
I think someone must have had the radio on because I can remember hearing the result.
Bryggmester

I was 16 and travelling back to Fleetwood after a family holiday near Coniston. The car had no radio and I can remember my Dad in an agony of suspense wondering what the score was.
