On the wagon.............

I've always liked a drink. To the point where I'd be cracking open a bottle most nights, & having a couple or three before falling into bed

I've been thinking about cutting down recently, as I'm fed up reeling about hanging onto things the following morning (), so I haven't bothered with anything except orange & lemonade all week. And I have to say, what a difference it's made! I've slept better (as I've been going to bed when I'm tired, rather than watching the clock), I've woken up feeling much more refreshed, and my energy levels have gone right up, too

Last night I decided to have a couple of beers while watching telly.............and this morning the difference was plain! Obviously, I'm not going to do anything ridiculous like giving it up altogether (), but there's a definate case for drastically cutting down!

The only negative has been that I think my hearing's been damaged, as I can no longer hear the constant nagging from Joanne

So how much do you guys drink? And how often?
milton

I'm not much of a beer drinker, might have a bottle now and again but I can't remember the last time I went out for a pint.

I do like my wine though, we have a bottle most nights and sometimes more than one.

I also like a decent malt, but other than when there are people here, I rarely have one and a bottle can last me 12 months.

I've found an alcoholic Ginger Beer in Aldi that I'm quite partial to but again, it's now and again.

The pub in the village is opposite Chez Milton, but we've been here a year next week and i still haven't been in the place, there's just too many other things to do.
Mo

My name is Mo and I drink every day.

Every day I have at least one glass of wine. Some days I have more. Some days I drink beer, lager, cider or spirits.
I'm partial to a glass of Sherry whilst cooking a Roast Dinner, which is a nod to my Mum.
Once a year I hold my nose and have a Dark Rum in memory of my Dad.

I haven't been blathered for a long time though.
I used to drink a *lot* more but then I had a different lifestyle. People dropped by for a beer, not a cuppa.

And my mother blessed me and passed on her 'no hangover' gene.

I'm trying to cut down on the pint or two that I have most nights but for reasons of my weight rather than anything else.

I dont drink much at all, I have a morgans and coke after I have finished my shift at the golf club on a Saturday night and the odd one during the week but thats it, its mainly cups of tea and juice, im not a big fan of drinking at all
dan

Have a drink here most nights, but its alot less than what it was years ago.
Normally wine unless the odd bottle of southern comfort or gin manages to let itself into the house but it doesnt tend to last long if it does
And like Mo ... I dont get hangovers, not sure if this is a bad or a good thing, as when everyone is suffering say like over christmas i'm ready to start again

We have strange goings on in our house......

I will buy a bottle of Morgans, Malibu, and a crate of Pears Magners, when they are on offer at Tesco, put them in the cupboard and then when I fancy a tott of Morgans I go and get the bottle to find that the bottle has mysteriously evaporated    Stu swears blind hes not touched it   funny thou as the Malibu that I bought hasnt evaporated at all

Not only has the Morgans bottle evaporated but the crate of Pears Magners has mysteriously dwindled too

Does anyone else suffered from this strange occurance?
Butterbean

No but if you find the Malibu to also begin evaporating you might want to start sharpening your knife.

I only take a nip from time to time.  I try to do everything in moderation and don't need anymore bad habits.  Truth is, I like it too much and know it could get the best of me if I let it.  Of course every few months or so I have to purge my body with a good dose of something.
Bodach

Aye its the same up here, like me red wine way to much and I have a glass or two most nites, try to limit it though not easy when you only get 3 glasses out of a bottle!

Same sort of problem here!! Now we've got a stair fairy that add's steps, the table fairy that leaves things all over it, the wardrobe fairy that throws everything out of the wardrobe, and the  alcohol fairy that should be that drunk she wouldn't be capable of doing any of the others even if she tried!!!
