Olympia

For all lovers of all things equine, Olympia is on tomorrow night on digital at 6.45pm. If its anything like last year it will be on for a fair few hours.

Have already told the hubby that his dinner will be in the oven and not to disturb me as revenge for his nabbing the remote tonight for Larry Snotter on ITV

Happy viewing

I watched some of the showjumping today on BBC2.
How stylish the riders are nowadays. So precise, their legs don't move, and the horses are all of a type aren't they?
No throwing the horses over the fences, hunting style, the way Ted Edgar and other characters used to do. Does anyone remember Annette Lewis? She used to throw herself into the air separately from her horse, and they'd both land together on the other side! And Stroller - Marion Cokes' 14.2 pony would be dwarfed by the horses in today's class.
Even the cut of the ladies' jackets has changed - all short and very tightly tailored.
Gawd, I must be getting old....

Yes - excellent wasn't it? I thought his horse was going to get down and roll though during the presentation! Mind you, they wouldn't have got that sparkly rug anywhere near my old boy!

I remember David Broome riding a horse called Vibart ,he was only a small horse and always kicked back after jumping a fence.

I pressed my red button last night to find the showjumping wasnt on freeview after all. How gutted was I? Many apologies to anyone who switched on to find like I did that they couldnt watch it

Don't worry about it ClaireK - it's rarely your fault

Freeview interactive has limited bandwidth and unlike an actual "channel" BBC frequently has a fight on it hand from enditors of all areas as to what will actually be on there, so frequently you'll find proposed red channel content is changed without notice.

On the satellite and cable, the BBC has access to a large brandwidth so they are able to provide a multiscreen option to provide enough room for everyone to red button their broadcasts, on freeview editors are frequently out for each other and there's a real bun fight over who gets what, when.

It would not suprise me if there was a last minute coup by another editorial department over bandwidth for their "content" to be broadcast in place of Olympia and the Puissance.
